The History of Apple Computer

It is unique in the IT industry. It exploited the personal computer market.


It is Apple Computer, who was founded in April 1, 1976. The first sign of it, was not the well-known apple, but a picture of a scene which Newton was reading under an apple tree, and a poem by the British poet William Wordsworth,

A Mind Forever
Voyaging Through Strange
Seas of Thought
……Alone


But since it’s too complex, not long after that, the famous one-bite-apple sign was introduced.


And it was since then, Apple began to be known as its own characteristics. Simplicity, fancy, creativity... had regularly become the spirit of Apple. Apple had been the most beloved computer since then.


However, this is a cruel world, as the Apple spirit is not money-oriented, in the beginning of 1980’s, Apple nearly lost the game. October 1983, Business Weekly announced IBM the winner of the fight of personal computer. Apple’s stock got a tremendously drop from $63 in June to $23 in October. But maybe this was not really a bad thing. Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, made an speech to 150,000 people, “IBM wants to occupy everything, Apple is their last barrier. They are now pointing Apple with a gun! Can we let them make it?” The 150,000 people roared “Never!”. This speech, which was spread to the world via radio, made Apple a successful backstroke. And Apple’s secret weapon, the most successful computer Macintosh was first released. In fact now, Macintosh has become the name of all Apple Computer. Because of that speech, the shell price doubled in 2 weeks from $17. And that was known as the Apple’s 1984 Blizzard.


During the history of Apple, there are ups and downs from time to time. But the Apple spirit had never changed. “Think Different” became a mark of Apple. Indeed, Apple never stopped to make its product perfect. “It's been a huge success for us, and therefor, it's time to replace it.” said Steve.


This year, Apple will be 30 years old on the April Fool’s Day, and there is a word by Steve, “30 years, making the best personal computer in the world.”


This is a commercial area, where everything is measured by money --- Microsoft is an typical example --- but only she still persists in her own concept of value. This is an barbarian’s land, where command and conquer is the only topic , only she keeps her own culture.


She is more than a high-tech company, she is an artist; She has to fight for a living, but at the same time, she is also a poet; She nearly died because of her difference, but she is a warrior with a strong heart.


One can never judge or measure her using a normal standard or concept. She used to get hurt, get lost, but her vitality is always beyond what people can imagine. Because of her, IT industry is not too cold; because of her, despite of how much money Microsoft has, it can never get enough respect.


She is the Apple Computer, the miracle made by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the naive child of the whole IT industry, the lover of all the personal computer users, the poem of the human being.
